Welcome.

I've always had a love for photography and pictures. As a child, my bedroom walls were completely covered by photos of friends and family, and pictures I had cut out of magazines. My father gave me his 35mm camera when I was in high school so I could "get serious" about my hobby and take some photography classes. I loved working in the dark room. The smells of the chemicals, the magic of standing over a developing print. I became quickly inspired. I can recall a certain morning when I was driving to school but just had to stop and snap photos of the ice crystals that had formed like rivers through sand on my windshield. I was very late to school and the school secretary didn't seem to buy my excuse that I "just had to stop in the name of art!" I've never been a fan of taking landscapes, it's people that inspire me. It's capturing the moment. It's taking an authentic photo that not only embodies the subject's true beauty, but also genuinely represents their personality. I like snapping photos when the subject is in their element; whether it's playing on the playground, giggling with friends or looking to the sky for airplanes.

My son is my biggest inspiration and the reason I got back behind the camera to begin with. I wanted to savor and immortalize each moment of his childhood. I wanted to see him running, walking, smiling, laughing, splashing in the tub and sleeping soundly in dreamland. After upgrading my DSLR and investing in some new lenses and photo-editing software, I joined the Charlotte Camera Club to learn more about photography and have an opportunity to have my photos critiqued and evaluated by professionals and other amateur photographers. Now I rarely leave my home without my camera around my body. It's the everyday moments that are the most dear to me.

I love working with people of all ages, but children are my favorite. There is something so magical about freezing a moment in time of a growing child's life and making it last forever. While I am extremely flexible with my clients and will agree to virtually any location for shooting, I must warn you that I am not a studio photographer. I feel that natural light best captures beauty and that the most magical moments and expressions are the ones that come naturally, not forced after an hour of smiling at the camera. I am committed to capturing those authentic photos of your family. I am honored to be included at your special events and to snap a lasting image of the people that matter the most to you. I will work dutifully to produce images that you feel capture the essence of your child and photographs that will keep you coming back to me for more.

Being able to take pictures is not only my passion, my hobby, but it's also a way of life. My mind's eye often sees through a lens and imagines the perfect shot, the perfect location, the perfect light. I look forward to working with you and your family to capture the very moments that you want to remember and save forever.
